Teeth are formed fully before the birth of a child, but they are buried below the gums. Most babies teeth appear between age four and six months. Teething is a milestone that comes with pure excitement and, in some cases, rough experiences.
Baby teeth appear in pairs, the bottom canine and the upper canine. Most children start teething early, but some have their teeth later.
Symptoms of Teething
These symptoms are common when babies are teething.
Red, swollen, tender,, and sensitive gums; drooling excessively; fussiness; trouble sleeping. desire to chew, bite, or suck an object; pulling ear; facial rash; low-grade fever; bump below the gum.
How to soothe a Teething Baby
Give them something to chew on. A teething ring, as they chew on the ring, they feel relieved. They could chew a refrigerated wash cloth. You could even offer your clean fingers to gently rub over their gums.
Note that due to the introduction of many objects into the mouth of the baby to soothe their gum, they get in contact with germs. This is one explanation for babies becoming sick while teething. It is therefore advised that hygiene practices are maintained to reduce the contact level of these germs.
